Job Description:
Upstream Solutions Inc is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Procurement Associate located in St. John's, NL.
Abstract/Main Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain portfolio of agreements within a category/commodity group; drilling and well servicing experience an asset
- Process execution, full compliance with business controls (ie: audits, internal assessments, risk assessments, etc.)
- Manage contract/agreement development and implementation (ie: RFI’s, RFP’s, procurement plans, bid evaluations, contract/agreement awards, kick-off meetings, contract/agreement administration/management)
- Provide portfolio specific market intelligence
- Steward tactical client relationships for key portfolio activities
- Supplier relationship management
- Identify cost reduction/management and productivity improvement opportunities and agreement rationalization opportunities within the portfolio
- Ensure transactional efficiency of agreements (SAP experience an asset)
- Active contribution in category/commodity networks and use of corporate category/commodity planning sites
- Support Procurement Associate work at other sites / regions needed

Qualifications
- University degree and 5 to 10 years procurement experience
- Category/commodity management expertise; preference for drilling and well servicing
- Procurement / commercial expertise
- Understanding of client business and objectives in oil and gas industry
- Industry and market knowledge
- Leadership skills
- Communication skills
- Analytical skills / total supply chain management knowledge
- Effective negotiation, advocacy and influencing skills
- Knowledge of purchase-to-pay process including Enterprise Resource Planning systems
- Project planning / execution skills
- Ability to work independently
